Nope, not even close.
I had the most organised, planned and scheduled birthday I've ever had. And the best part? I didn't do any of the planning.
It was planned with complete love and adoration by my Z, the great love of my life. *swoon*.
Taking everything about me into account, Z created a completely magical day. I'm talking breath taking. Life changing. Commitment affirming. Joy harvesting. In short? Amazeballs.
Our day started at 4am (yes, I was a little suspicious at this stage :p), at which time I was handed an outfit (all perfect), and a goddess smoothie and urged into the (already packed) car. Then we drove for an hour or so. I didn't even have to give directions.
Our early start was required so we could watch the sunrise over the Yarra Valley in a hot air balloon. Yup, a life-long dream came true. You know, I didn't even dream to put Hot Air Balloon on my 100 things list? It felt too big and unlikely. There's a lesson learned for me, right?
My love and I have always said that together, anything is possible. I do love a special birthday reminder!
Once we touched back down to earth (and I fell out of the basket, very ungraceful, but dang funny!!) and we walked INSIDE the balloon (squeeee) I was swept up the mountain to Sugarloaf/Saddle Dam and treated to a full out vegan/gluten free picnic with my favourite tunes playing.
From there, it was lunchtime, and we headed to a cider house and brewery for the best meal I've eaten in maybe ever!!
Regardless of full bellies, we took off next to a chocolaterie for tastings, icecream, and the most perfectly Laura Pankoke spread of chocolates you've ever seen:
Finally, we chortled home in our dream car, listening to some comedy, stopping off at wineries that took our fancy, and generally reveling in our bliss.
Once at home, we collapsed in front of a DVD and the fan (oh, did I mention it was 39 degrees??).
I'm very confident in crossing off #56 from my list "Have a wonderful birthday". It was one of the most special days of my life.
It reminded me of what really matters.
It showed me how magical my love is.
And it inspired me more than ever before to make days like this the norm and not the exception.
So what does that mean? It means that the day after my birthday has been spend in planning mode - and now I've got the start of a solid plan to reaching that dream.
Because with the right planning, and a lot of love, anything is possible.
With love and lollipops,
