Thursday is normally a big action day for me. It involved a LOT of computer time, a lot of hustle time, and just generally a lot of work.
So I headed to my essential oils box to get something invigorating into the diffuser so I could start my day.
But first I drew a card from my new deck (Gabrielle Bernstein's "The Universe Has Your Back" deck - they are gorgeous, I highly recommend them!). I do this most mornings, and then work up a blend that works with both the message and what I need that day.
In the first beat, my internal dialogue went "yup, and I want to feel productive and driven, so let's get some Motivate into the diffuser and fire up the Mac".
But then a quieter, gentler voice piped up and said:
"actually, that's just how I think I should feel. Or think I should want to feel. In fact, I just want to feel like this. I want to feel gentle, and in flow, and calm and peaceful".
I liked that little voice. It was shy, but also more certain than the other one.
So I did what the card said - I honoured how I wanted to feel (with British spelling, because even in flow with the Universe, I'm a nerd).
The following things happened: I made loads of really great food to nourish my body. I chatted with my Dad and one of my bezzie mates for aaagggges. I walked with my dogga in the sunshine. I threw open all the windows and got fresh air through my house. I connected back into why I do what I do.
The following things did not happen: the world didn't end. My business didn't fail. My to-do list didn't haunt my dreams. I didn't have day-after regret on Friday.
As this week kicks off, I'd love it if you took a second to think about how you want to feel.
Not should, could or ought to. How do you want to feel? Now go and do things that will make that happen
